A Fort Bend Independent School District police officer used pepper spray to break up a fight during class transitions at Lake Olympia Middle School. Students had trouble breathing and were coughing. One student said the nurse’s office was turning students away because they were too crowded due to the incident.
A 26-year-old campus security officer was arrested for multiple charges of lewd acts with a juvenile under 14 years old, sexual battery, arranging a meeting with a Minor, and annoying and harassing a child under the age of 18. She is currently under investigation.
A school resource officer at Nichols Middle School was terminated following an incident where she forcefully pushed an eighth-grade girl’s head against a wall and then slammed her to the ground. The events occurred during the school day, in front of her peers, as the student was returning to her classroom after taking her medication. After an investigation, it was concluded that the officer had not complied with the established procedures and protocols and was terminated.
While on the school bus home, a 14-year-old child was held to the ground by three officers and later detained. The incident started with a fight on the school bus between students, officers were called to break up the fight.
A 26-year-old high school resource officer and deputy with the Preble County Sheriff’s Office was accused of having a relationship and sexual contact with an 18-year-old student. The officer was placed on administrative leave, arrested, and charged with sexual battery, tampering with evidence, and dereliction of duty.
A DeKalb County school resource is on administrative leave after a student says the school resource officer slammed her on her head so hard that she was knocked unconscious. A previous report stated that this same officer was seen punching a student at the school on March 11. Both incidents went seemingly unreported. The internal investigation is on-going.
A Mannford Police officer and Mannford Public Schools resource officer, 42, was arrested for first-degree rape, providing alcohol to two minors, and sexually assaulting a minor. The student states that the officer began messaging him, invited the student to his home, provided him with multiple alcoholic beverages, and when the student had passed out, sexually assaulted him. The officer was booked into the Creek County Jail and is awaiting trial.
A teenage student’s complaint against a Blanco Independent School District School Resource Officer for allegedly making inappropriate comments, has triggered an investigation. The SRO’s comments include, “Oh, when are you turning 18? So you can come over.” The SRO has since been reassigned to duty that is not related to any of the schools.
After an independent investigation by the Solano County district attorney’s Major Crimes Task Force, a resource officer at a Fairfield high school was arrested for exchanging inappropriate text messages and photos with two underage female students. Charges include: possessing child pornography, communication with a minor with the intent to commit a sex crime, and distributing obscene material to a minor. The resource officer was placed on administrative leave pending the investigation.
A 17-year-old girl has filed a lawsuit against an Emeryville high school security guard, 21, and the district that employed him. The security guard is accused of sexually assaulting the student on school grounds on at least three occasions from late October through early November. The security guard was arrested in November 2023 by Alameda Police and charged with statutory rape and for sexually assaulting the young girl on school grounds. The complaint states that employees at Emery High School failed to discipline or properly supervise the security guard, even after becoming aware of alleged instances of sexual misconduct with other female students.
