A school resource officer at Freedom High School was charged with assault and battery for engaging in inappropriate conversation and pinching an 18-year-old’s cheeks. He was released on a summons to appear in court.
A school resource officer and Calcasieu Parish deputy intervened in an argument between students by grabbing one student’s arm and twisting it around her back and eventually grabbing her by the neck and shoving her to the ground. The officer then proceeded to shove another male student into a picnic table. The Calcasieu Parish Office said the deputy “acted appropriately.”
A school resource officer, who is also a prison deputy, was placed on administrative leave after accidentally using a stun gun on an 8th grade girl. The officer was not allowed to work extra duty or carry a stun gun until he receives training again and is recertified with a taser.

Hardin Police tazed a 13-year-old student and charged him with assaulting an officer and disorderly conduct. The police were called to the school because someone claimed a 13-year-old student made a threat against the school and was armed. This threat turned out to be unfounded and the student was unarmed. However, when police arrived at the school, the student physically resisted the officer’s advances and was tased.
A student at Cypress Fairbanks Independent School District was body-slammed by a school resource officer when attempting to break up an altercation.
During an altercation between two students in the cafeteria, a school resource officer slammed a young student onto the cafeteria table. The student was charged with disorderly conduct. The student’s mother took her to the hospital to make sure she was okay after being slammed by the officer.
