A former Putnam County School resource officer, arrested back in 2022, was found guilty of 16 felony counts of child sexual abuse for crimes committed over a period of 3 years while working at Interlachen High School and other schools. After hearing tips about the SROs behavior, the county sheriff’s department interviewed the student, and the student confirmed the tips were true.

An 11-year-old black and disabled student at Landmark Middle School was taken down and handcuffed in his classroom when Riverside County deputies responded after the child refused to go to the principal’s office. The assault lasted six minutes and resulted in the student being handcuffed and detained.

A Madison Consolidated School District school resource officer had inappropriate communication with a male student. The SRO was charged with child seduction, attempted promotion of child sexual trafficking, vicarious sexual gratification, 3 other felony charges and a misdemeanor charge.

A school resource officer slammed a 6-year-old special needs Latine student’s face on the floor multiple times and pinned his arms behind his back aggressively. While the 280-pound officer pinned the student down, he berated him with insults as he cried out in pain. The student suffered psychological trauma, bruises and bleeding from his face.

A county sheriff slammed a student against a set of lockers after yelling in the student’s face following a football game. The school eventually expelled the student after assigned him to an alternative school.

A former Auburn High School resource officer has pleaded guilty to all charges for an inappropriate relationship with a 14-year-old student. The Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office said he had “repeated inappropriate conduct” with a student in the city and the school building itself. The former school resource officer was sentenced to two years in state prison followed by 10 years of post-release supervision for the charge of first-degree sexual abuse and 1-3 years in prison for disseminating indecent material to a minor.

November 2022
In November of 2022, a student was stopped and approached by a school resource officer while walking to the principal’s office. After exchanging words with the student, the officer began beating the student on the arm, shoulder, and leg. After an investigation the SRO was dismissed from the school. Later that year in December, the SRO assaulted the same student in the same fashion with his baton. The SRO is charged with reckless endangerment and aggravated assault.

An arrest warrant is out for a former school security guard who is facing 14 counts of possessing child pornography, 20 counts of disseminating child pornography and 20 counts of criminal use of a communication facility. The security guard was terminated after sexually assaulting a teenage victim on school grounds in 2021.

A high school security officer is facing 8 charges, including unlawful sexual activity of a minor and solicitation of a child. The security guard inappropriately offered the minor drugs and alcohol, sent sexual messages and rented a hotel room to spend the night with the survivor.

A school resource officer at Glenn High School used pepper spray on an undisclosed number of students to break up an altercation. The students were investigated for their actions. No disciplinary action was being taken against the officer.
