Last school year, immigration enforcement operations escalated in and around schools, targeting Black, Latine, and immigrant youth as schools became sites of ICE violence and school attendance plummeted as a result.
But just as quickly, communities organized to ensure schools are sanctuaries of learning, not places where students are detained and ripped apart from family members.
By lifting up and continuing to connect these efforts to dismantle the school-to-prison pipeline, we can combat the harms of immigration enforcement in and around schools and create welcoming and supportive learning environments for all students.
